Believe it or not, there are Reasons Attractive People Can’t Find A Partner Easily.

This video got me thinking.

BEAUTY IS AS BEAUTY DOES.

Physical beauty is often coveted in our cultures. People think that if you’re attractive, you’ll naturally end up in a happy long-term relationship. Surprisingly, this isn’t true. Attractive people aren’t always lucky when it comes to their love life.

A research study at Harvard University found that, in general, physically attractive people don’t stay in a relationship as long as other people. In another part of the same study, researchers found that the most physically attractive people were more desirable. Still, they often had short-term marriages that ended in divorce.

The blessings and curses of being physically attractive don’t stop at troubled relationships. Studies reveal that beauty affects your ability to get a job, whether you’ll be convicted of a crime and whether you get good health care.

While it may seem that people who are more physically attractive have an easier time finding a partner, this may not always be true. Physical attraction definitely plays a role in selecting a partner. People are first drawn by what they see. Attractive people have an easier time drawing new people and potential partners in. There’s no denying this.

However, the attraction is more than just about the outside. Attractive people can have just as many struggles finding someone to connect with as someone who has average looks. There are plenty of reasons that someone beautiful and fit may have the same dating woes as everyone else.

So, it would seem that being attractive isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, especially when it comes to long-term relationships. Here are seven reasons why an attractive person may not be able to find a long-term partner.

BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY OPTIONS

While this may not seem like much of a problem, having too many options when it comes to dating can be just as difficult as having no options at all. I think attractiveness gives you more options in terms of relationship alternatives which might make it harder to protect a relationship from outside threats. In this sense, having too many other choices is likely not beneficial for relationship longevity.”

THEY’RE JUDGED BY others because of THEIR LOOKS.

After all, this is the first thing that many people see when they meet another person. Attractive people can be judged on their looks just as easily as people who aren’t as attractive. Whether this comes with the “Ditzy Blonde” stereotype or the “Meathead Jock” stereotype, attractive people are often judged based on their looks. This snap judgment makes it hard to make a real connection with someone after they’ve already decided your personality based on how you look.

Attractive people are no different from anybody else. They have good days and bad days, chores to do at home, and bills to pay. But beautiful people are often held to a higher standard than other people. There can be an expectation that they are hard to get to know. These perceptions aren’t usually based on knowing the attractive person, but based on their good looks. Because of such judgments, potential partners often distance themselves from an attractive person.

Having an overwhelming number of choices regarding dating can make it hard to connect with one person. After all, dating is something that can lead to connecting and falling in love with someone for the rest of your life. The idea of having to choose one of many can be daunting.

POTENTIAL PARTNERS ARE WARY OF YOU

Attractive people may intimidate potential partners from making a move because they’re vibrantly aware that they have an array of different people to choose from. This can stop the good-hearted and genuine people from trying to make their move and get to know a person better. It can be disheartening to be part of a competition for someone’s affection, and people may not want to risk being turned down.

Attractive women sometimes find it hard to feel at ease in social settings. They may experience a lot of unwanted attention, so they are more guarded. This makes them come across as cold or stoic. Or they may not be comfortable initiating conversations because they’re used to others initiating towards them. Surprisingly, attractive people can lack self-confidence. Because they have experienced being used in the past, they keep people at a distance to protect themselves.

PEOPLE WANT TO USE THEM FOR THEIR BODIES

One psychological study found that many attractive people see their beauty as a detriment. But why?

Attractive people often face the unique challenge of people using them for their looks and their bodies. They may be faced with people who try to get close to them and feign interest in them long enough to get intimate, and then being dropped emotionally. This may put people on edge and make them closed off from connecting to other people because they’re used to being used.

Attractive people are often unsure of a partner’s real intentions. This makes them prone to being guarded in dating. They aren’t sure if they can trust the person because they’ve been used in the past.  You often read stories about beautiful celebrities finding long-lasting love with a very normal non-celebrity type person because this person loves them for who they really are, not just their beauty.

 ATTRACTIVE PEOPLE FEEL SOCIALLY AWKWARD

Attractive women sometimes find it hard to feel at ease in social settings. They may experience a lot of unwanted attention, so they are more guarded. This makes them come across as cold or stoic. Or they may not be comfortable initiating conversations because they’re used to others initiating towards them. Surprisingly, attractive people can lack self-confidence. Because they have experienced being used in the past, they keep people at a distance to protect themselves.

In part, this awkwardness may stem from the whispers they hear behind their backs.  Good-looking people often have a stigma attached to them that assumes that they’re loose. Attractive people are often seen as sexual creatures and nothing else.

Their self-esteem is stripped from them, and people often refuse to see them as wholly realized people with interests and opinions. It can be extremely draining and put them off of dating.

IT’S HARDER TO FIGURE OUT PEOPLE’S TRUE INTENTIONS

When men see beautiful women, they are more concentrated on how she looks because they want to ‘have’ her, and so they don’t want to go deeper and get to know her…in other words they become Intimidated.

Hence, attractive people will be faced with the problem of trying to figure out what people really want from them. They’re often stuck with trying to figure out if someone is interested in them for their personality or looks, which can make connecting with people difficult.

 THEIR LOOKS CAN CAUSE DRAMA

This can range from people talking behind their back based on stereotypes associated with their looks or even the source of jealousy. Dealing with drama can be difficult for any person, and attractive people are no different. The drama can make dating difficult because the word of drama often spreads quicker than it can be contained. Everyone loves drama, except when it comes to drama based on your looks.

That kind of drama can also relate to jealousy–a problem that can destroy a relationship, according to psychologists.

Your potential partner may assume because you are attractive, you will flirt with everyone around you. They assume you may cheat. This can be hurtful because it’s making an assumption about your character simply based upon your appearance. This type of mistrust eats away at a relationship.

WHAT KEEPS A LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP GOING?

Even once they find love, attractive people seem to struggle with long-term relationships. But what keeps a relationship going? Here are some psychologist-confirmed tips on how to maintain a healthy long-term relationship.

1 – SHIFTING GOALS

At the beginning of your relationship, you and your partner kept everything divided equally. But over time, you may grow selfish and less apt to be as flexible in what you value. If you see yourself shifting towards selfishness, resist it, and work towards being ready to give rather than receive.

2 – GOOD COMMUNICATION

Seek to be honest and share your feelings with your partner. Good communication is essential for a healthy long-term relationship. Once you start to harbor your feelings, you may get bitter or build walls against your partner. Talk about what you’re feeling calm before it grows into a full-blown angry outburst.

3 – THERE’S NO WINNER OR LOSER

Don’t let competition seep into your relationship. When competition is part of your relationship, it takes away the genuine love and cares you have, so you feel like you’re in a football game. If you compete to “win” all the time, you may find yourself losing big time in your relationship.

there are ways A Good Man handles his Relationships Differently

10 WAYS A GOOD MAN HANDLES HIS RELATIONSHIPS DIFFERENTLY

A GOOD MAN

KNOWS THAT HE NEEDS TO ACT AND NOT JUST SPEAK, WORDS OF TRUST.

A good man has unique qualities that sets us apart from the rest of

the men in the world, and the difference is clear. If you notice the following things

about a man, he might be a good one to keep around.

Being a good man doesn’t require making lots of  money, a perfect

appearance, or being extremely smart. Instead, it requires various positive

characteristics that are realistic for any man to achieve. When you recognize these

traits in a man, you can trust that he is likely a good man.

HE LOVES AND RESPECTS HIS women FOR WHO THEY ARE

Good men love their partners for who they are on the inside. A person’s

sensibilities, personality, and ethics are more important to them than anything else.

Plus, a good man will accept what a woman believes in and her goals for life.

A good man will treat his partner with respect always, even during arguments

and disagreements. He expects the same from his partner, too, though.

A GOOD MAN TAKES INITIATIVE

Whether the decision is big or small, he will step in and handle it without

being asked. He is decisive and doesn’t leave all the decisions up to his partner.

While he makes decisions, he factors in the views and needs of his partner, too.

He doesn’t step in to make the decisions to be controlling. Instead, he does it

as a way to make the situation better without putting it all on his significant other. He

isn’t afraid to speak up and hold his own when he needs or wants something to get

 done, either.

 HE IS ALWAYS SUPPORTIVE

No matter what their partner’s goals are, he is supportive and encouraging.

He won’t talk down to his partner or make them feel like they can’t do what they

set their mind to. As they go through your journey, he will be there to cheer them

on and comfort them along the way.

While some men might be jealous of their partner’s achievements, good men

don’t get that way. They will be proud of their partner’s successes and do

everything they can to help them continue growing.

HE willing to COMMIT

A good man doesn’t play with the heart and mind of others, and he doesn’t

do things to betray them. When he is in a relationship, he fully commits

all of the time. He doesn’t cheat physically or emotionally and is always loyal.

Plus, this type of man understands that relationships take hard work and

dedication from both partners. He will work to maintain a strong and healthy

relationship as he nourishes the bond continually. Trust won’t be an issue

because he shows that he is dedicated and committed.

HE IS NEVER ABUSIVE

Abuse isn’t always physical, and emotional abuse is commonly an issue in

relationships. With a good man, abuse of any kind won’t be a concern

because it will never cross his mind. Abuse is never okay, and a real man

would never put their partner in this position.

Looking for signs of abuse requires that all of the man’s relationships

are examined. The way he treats his family members and friends shows

what he is capable of, and a good person won’t abuse them, either.

HE INSPIRES HIS woman

A man that inspires those around him is a good one to spend time with.

He takes control of his life and encourages others to do the same.

His drive and ambition will be contagious to those around him,

and it will rub off on his woman.

This behavior is mutually beneficial because as his partner pursues their passions,

he can continue doing the same in his life. When both partners are working

toward their goals, neither feels forgotten, left behind, or held back.

HE KNOWS THAT HE NEEDS TO ACT AND NOT JUST SPEAK

When a man does what he says he will do, it shows that he is a positive person

to be around. He will not break promises, and he stands by his word even when

it is hard. His words will never be empty because he doesn’t say things that he

 doesn’t mean.

He will always prove that his words are the truth, so his partner never feels the

need to question their relationship together. Plus, he will stand up for his

relationship whenever it is necessary. When people say or ask inappropriate things,

he will speak up and put an end to that kind of discussion.

He will make the integrity of his relationships known and never holds back in that

regard. Even when he is around his friends, he isn’t afraid to speak up on behalf

of the relationship. It shows that he can express himself and protect his partner

and their relationship.

A GOOD MAN HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR

Good men tend to have a good sense of humor and can laugh at themselves.

He will make his partner smile and laugh, creating happiness even amidst issues.

His sense of humor makes him a beneficial person to be around when things aren’t

going perfectly, and it helps bring comfort to the relationship.

People with a sense of humor make obstacles and setbacks easier to handle.

They bring joy to any situation, and it creates resiliency in their relationships.

Having a sense of humor is one of the best things to look for in a partner for the

reasons mentioned above. It is a sign of positivity and emotional strength that

indicates a good person to spend your time with.

HE BRINGS A SENSE OF SAFETY

An ideal partner will make those closest to him feel safe when he is present.

He will make his partner feel more peaceful knowing that they have someone

they trust nearby to help with their safety. His partner’s awareness will

allow him to understand what they need at every moment, contributing to the

sense of safety. Bringing a sense of safety doesn’t indicate that he attracts people

that need rescuing or constant reassurance. Instead, it is just an added layer of

feeling safe that his partner will find comforting.

HE MAKES TIME FOR HIS PARTNER

A good man understands that spending time together is essential in any

relationship. He also understands that time is precious and that you can never

get missed experiences back. Since he knows these things, he makes sure to

give time to his partner no matter how busy his life. When life is busy, it is harder

to find that time, making it an even bigger priority to make plans together.

He will never make his partner feel neglected because all of his time and energy

is going to other things. The dedication and hard work he puts into keeping

the relationship strong is a sure sign of a good person.

When he knows he won’t see his partner that day, he makes time to call

them on the phone. He wants to hear his partner’s voice and let them know

they are on his mind even amidst a busy schedule. Making dates ahead of time

will also be a priority to him and further shows how much the relationship

means to him. A good man makes his relationships a priority, and he never

makes those  he cares about feel unworthy. He makes sure his partner knows

how he feels, and he makes time to spend together.

When a man is there through the good and the bad, it is a sign that he is

a good person. He will support his partner through the entire journey,

being their safe space and cheerleader along the way.

His encouragement and unwavering belief in his woman will strengthen

their relationship, too. No matter what is going on in his life, his stays focus

is on giving his all in his relationships. Look for these signs in a man if you are

trying to get a good read on his qualities. If you recognize the characteristics

listed above, he is likely a good person to spend your time around

The fact that people think you should act your age, is rediculous.

She may have grey hair, but she does not act old.

If you’re a Baby boomer reading this, well I'm sorry in advance. But I have no choice but to inform you that a lot of the things you’ve been doing for, well, forever, are pretty uncool, these days. And although you may think otherwise, these trends are never coming back in style, so you have to accept the changes.

-There are many things that seem to repeat themselves in fashion, but high-waist skirts are something that doesn’t deserve condoning. They are simultaneously uncomfortable and unflattering, and the days of them being in style is long gone

-While there are so many opportunities for growth amongst the Baby Boomer generation, so many choose to be stubborn in their old ways, torturing generations for years to come. Here are the most unforgivable trends Baby Boomer still think are cool, but need to stop immediately.

-While the mall was once an escape for retail therapy and socializing, the malls of today’s America have only decayed. Society’s online shopping availability has eliminated our need for malls, as common sense shoppers know the inventory and crowds aren’t worth it.

-Cable may have once been necessary to watch TV, but that’s no longer the case, and Boomers need to get with the times. Not only are satellite and cable outdated, but streaming is cheaper and provides tailored options for the things you actually watch. Cut the cord!

-If you’re still writing checks in this day and age, you’re clearly stuck in prehistoric times because no one even accepts them anymore. Plus, banking apps process them with real-time photos, and with digital transfers available, we wonder why you’d want to writing one anyways.

-While looking at a men with a briefcase,  let’s point out the obvious – we work on computers now, and literally everything lives online – what could you possibly be carrying around in a briefcase? Pens and paper? Time to retire it.

I don’t care if you signed up years ago, there’s literally no point in catalogues anymore. Companies feature their promotions and entire product line online, and you’re going to have to go there to order things anyway. So save the Earth and ditch the traditional catalogues.

For the love of all things Holly, why on Earth did anyone ever do this? The entire point of sandals in the first place is to wear them without socks. It just looks absolutely ridiculous.

Yes, we know how precious these diamond jewels are to older generations, but the reality is that many young people today don’t care about diamonds. People have become more simplistic, or just find cheaper alternatives.
For whatever reason, Boomers think it’s necessary to have their cell phones attached to their hip, as if they don’t have purses or enough pockets already. Not only does it look tacky, but they should learn to actually use their phone before worrying about missing a call or message.
.
I rest my case.
