So why do some men remain single, until his later years?

I wrote a blog post not too long ago about  "Nice Girls Always Finish Single!"
Which got me thinking as an FB friend posted the following pic. While she meant it as a joke my thoughts are as follows:
There are at least more than just a few things that many men find themselves irresistible in a woman.
I believe very strongly that it's obvious what men do not find attractive, but what makes us crazy? All men want to find a woman who has the next irresistible qualities.

Calmness. For the most part, drama queens are usually women. And dating a drama Queen means lots of gossip, impulsive decisions, emotional conversation and drama in her life all the time.
Men prefer a woman who can stay calm and relaxed.

Cleanliness.  My good friend of many years once went out with an extremely attractive girl. They only went out once, and then he completely lost interest. I asked him what happened, and he told me. " Beauty is more than make-up and fancy haircut. Men find women more attractive when they are neat and clean. Men find women who smell nice, who have clean hair and hydrated skin more attractive than a face perfectly covered in makeup.

Intelligence. I can not date someone who does not even know the name of the person in power of the country where they live. it might sound extreme, but it's not. An intelligent woman shows ambition, awareness and personally knows the value of education

Caring. Instinctively, men and women are attracted to people who could potentially look out for them if something were to happen in the future. Most women are born with that instinct already but few show it. These days. out of fear that they will be taken advantage of.

Creativity. In some cases, creativity isn't a woman's natural abilities to make crafts and recreate Pinterest projects. Rather, her ability to approach life in a new and exciting way is the type of creativity men are looking for. A man wants a wife who can help him figure out unique solutions to life's problems.

Discipline. Parenting is already a difficult job, but it's made even harder with a lack of discipline. When men are looking for a woman who will uphold the household's rules and help reinforce their children's good behaviors.

Loyalty. No human being on Earth wants to be betrayed. When a man meets a woman, he looks at the way she acts and respects the people she loves. If she speaks poorly about her friends or tells them she is sick so she can spend time with her man instead of going out with him in public all of the time. he may not believe she is a good match for him when she shows off your relationship on FB is not what we want unless you are Halle Berry. Ooh, wait all of her relationships bombed!

Friendliness. If you ask a man why he loves his wife, he might say how she makes friends with everyone or how she treats everyone with respect and kindness. Nothing is more seductive than humility to treat everyone with the same level of respect.

Genuine. In today's World, it's easy to put up our picture perfect life on social media, but a real man is looking for a woman who is genuine. It's a difficult quality to find but is extremely attractive once discovered.
The rays of Maturity shine down early on little girls.
Much earlier than on boys
.

Maturity.  Maturity has nothing to do with the age of a person. Mental and emotional maturity is a quality all men are looking for because no one has time to date childish woman.

Optimism. Nothing is sexier than a person with the ability to see the glass half-full, instead of half-empty.

Punctuality. Nobody likes to wait around. Most men understand that most women take more time to get ready, but a woman who is punctual shows she respects everyone else's time.

The ability to let go. It's good to fight for what you want in life, but wisdom lies in our ability to know when it's time to let go of what we can not have.

Romantic. It makes sense that both men and women are looking for a partner who is at least a little romantic. It's nice to feel like that spark will always be there because your partner is someone who likes to bring flowers home and plans romantic getaways.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T-F-U-L.  Respect for a man and for others is a characteristic that all men find attractive.

Compassionate. It's easy to fall into the habit of always wanting or demanding more. When concentrating on our own needs, we forget to understand others. A compassionate woman is someone all men are looking for.

Loving. No one want's to be in a relationship where they don't feel loved.

Nice Girls Always Finish Single!

OK don't come my way, I'm not interested in your lines!
OK before you start hating this blogger for saying this caption, please allow me to disclaim....  it's the title of a book. I got for free from Bookbud, Amazone.com.
However, I have some thoughts on the subject.
this post is for A woman who is satisfied with her life and is not necessarily looking for romance.... but is still thinking that romantic love may still be a viable option. You know that All-consuming love! you no long thing possible at this stage in life.
So you weren't looking for romance, but you found love, anyway!

OK, folks lets go through some of the things that Single women fear most which can cause them to avoid making themselves available to men who might be interested in them.

The Four F's for avoiding hurt.
There are basically four stances that individuals take to avoid getting hurt in relationships. They are Fights, Flight, Fake,  and Fold.

Fights.
This stance definitely comes from Mars. When a conversation becomes unloving and unsupportive some individuals instinctively begin to fight. They immediately move into an offensive stance. Their motto is " the best defense is a strong offense." They strike out by blaming, judging, criticizing, and making their partner or potential partner look wrong. They tend to start yelling and express lots of anger. Their inner motive is to intimidate their partner into loving and supporting them. When their partner back down, they assume they have won, but in truth, they have lost... because potential partners flee, without looking over their shoulder.

Flight.
This stance also comes from Mars. To avoid confrontation Men may retire into their caves and never come out. This is like a cold war. They refuse to talk and nothing gets resolved. This [passive-aggressive behavior is not the same as taking a time-out and then coming back to talk and restore things in a more loving fashion. Men can be afraid of confrontation, as some women might be also, and would rather lie low and avoid talking about any topic that may cause an argument. They walk on eggshells in a relationship. Women commonly complain they have to walk on eggshells, but men do also. It is so ingrained in men that they don't even realize how much they do it.

Fake.
This stance comes from Venus, To avoid being hurt in a confrontation this person pretends that there is no problem. She puts a smile on her face and appears to be very agreeable and happy with everything. Over time, however, these women become increasingly resentful; they are always giving to their partner but they do not get what they need in return. This leads to resentment, which blocks the natural expression of love.

Fold.
This stance also comes from Venus. Rather than argue this person gives in. They will take the blame and assume responsibility for whatever is upsetting their partner. In the short run, they create what looks like a very loving and supportive relationship. but they end up losing themselves. To please their partners or even potential partners, they intuitively sense their partners' desires and then mold themselves in order to please. Eventually, they resent having to give up themselves for what seemed like love at some point in the beginning.

Rejection.
Any form of rejection is very painful because they are already rejecting themselves so very much. They seek to avoid rejection at all costs and want to be loved by all. In the process, they literally give up who they are.

Final thoughts.
My take on some of the biggest problems that have caused the wrong impressions is due to not reading each other properly, and not taking the time to understand the opposite sex. Men don't understand women, and women don't understand men.
Here are a few examples. the hidden reasons men argue:

  • Men don't like it when women get upset over the smallest things they do or don't do. Men feel criticized, rejected and unappreciated.

So what do men need not to feel the way women are capable of making men feel?
Men need to feel accepted just the way they are. Instead, men feel women are trying to improve them (change them into her view of who they should become because this is who women want men to become... to make them happy.
last but most important...

  • Men need to feel admired, just like women want to be admired and adored. Men hate feeling put down.   So anytime you try to fix him... you are telling him he is not good enough, just the way he is. And this is just the last straw on the camel that broke it's back!

So nice girls do not finish Single after all? Thanks!
But I didn't expect this ring from you!

When you are in a relationship you can't just do You!

Are you serious, you are going to read that mess in front of me!

Gender differences show up the most after getting involved in an intimate relationship.
By remembering that we men are from Mars, and the women are from Venus at times of frustration, worry, or disappointment, instead of thinking something is wrong with your partner or your relationship, you may discover that you are MISINTERPRETING the situation. With a more accurate interpretation, you can then adjust your actions and responses so that you begin to get more of what your both want. When we correctly interpret a situation it is never as bad as we initially thought.

Let me just say this; I'm a Professional Computer Programmer, an Analyst and designer of Application Systems. I've been solving business problems for companies for many many years. So why did I fail miserably in my Marriage?  Hmmm! Failing is part of growing. but failing in a relationship can spell the doom of your relationship. As a programmer, I wrote code, always being careful to prevent what we call in the industry as an "infinite loop"  this is when the instructions are coded do not account for a situation that will occur o on rare occasions, that the computer would not know what to do with. Cause a system crash after hitting instruction exceptions that go nowhere, and keeps looping back to the beginning and not resolving the issue.  We should always have a default routine.  A system crash in relationships is catastrophic. Oops! we all know how that ends.... you might be a perfect couple to everyone who knows you and your partner... but you are both wondering "Why did I get married Too?"
Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is whole other story.

To avoid relationship crashes; start by understanding what to do when stuff happens.
you don't even have the guts to argue with me in person!

1. Avoid Arguments that become hurtful.
One of the most difficult challenges in our loving relationships is handling differences of opinions and disagreements. Often when suddenly they stop talking in a loving couple disagree their discussions can turn into arguments and then without much warning into battles. Suddenly they stop talking in a loving manner and automatically begin hurting each other: blaming, complaining, accusing, demanding, resenting, and doubting.
What happens when we argue. Without understanding how men and women are different it is very easy to get into arguments that hurt not only our partner but also ourselves. The secret to avoiding arguments is loving and respectful communication. the differences and disagreements don't hurt as much as the ways in which we communicate them. Ideally an argument does not have to be hurtful: instead, it can simply be an engaging conversation that expresses our differences at that time.

Prepare for love  Brace for war!

2. Resolving conflict through understanding.
We all need to know and understand the reasons why.
   a) the secret reasons Men argue with women.
  • Men do not like it when his woman blames them for their unhappiness. They stop feeling encouraged to the knight in shining armor.
  • Men argue because they need to feel encouraged. Instead, they begin to feel like giving up
  • Men hate it when women complain about how much women do or how unappreciated women feel. This makes men feel unappreciated for the things they do for their women.
  • Men don't like it when women worry about everything that could go wrong.  Men don't feel trusted when that happens.

b) the secret reasons women argue with men.

  • Women don't like it when men minimize the importance of their feeling or request. Women feel dismissed and unimportant.
  • Women don't like it when men forget to do the things they ask for, and then tell them they are nagging. women start feeling like they are begging for men's support.
  • Women need to feel respected and remembered. Instead of neglected and at bottom of men's list of priorities.
  • Women do not like it when men blame women for being upset. They feel like they have to be perfect to be loved. Women know they are not perfect!
  • Women hate it when men raise their voices or start making the list of why they are right. It makes women feel like they are wrong and men do not care about their point of view

Final thoughts
the above was compiled while watching a DVD Tyler Perry movie titled.
"Why did I get married too?

So what are you missing out on?

Sex in the morning!
I think every woman has Freak Potential, she just needs to trust that her man is strong enough, open-minded enough, and secure enough to let the bad girl out! ~ Michael Baisden.

Morning sex may be the only cup of coffee that you need in the morning
Your To-do-list
  1. Use the bathroom
  2. Have a cup of coffee
  3. Take a shower
  4. Have sex with your partner
  5. Check phone
  6. Exercise
  7. Brush Teeth
  8. Eat breakfast
  9. Take care of your pet
  10. Drink Water

Having a little early morning sex can be all a person needs to have the most productive day. While some may fray away from this due to bad morning breathe, there are some positions that will allow you to avoid this uncomfortable factor. Whether you want to be less stressed, get ahead start at work or be healthier overall, adding morning sex to your routine may be the answer.
An after sex soak is refreshing!

Instead of reaching for their smart devices, people had their morning coffee, took a shower, or even had morning sex on their most productive days.”According to the Mattress Advisor, to help unravel some of the finer points of a more sensual morning routine, they surveyed nearly 1,000 people who are in a relationship and living with their partner. They asked multiple questions,  “if having sex in the morning made them feel more productive, how much sleep they would give up if it meant a roll between the sheets, and how relationship satisfaction relates to getting passionate in the morning. According to the study, 53% of male-identified and 45% of female-identified participants said morning sex made them feel more productive. The study also found men were more willing to sacrifice sleep time and get up 41.5 minutes earlier to have sex versus women who were willing to get up 30.7 minutes earlier.
Instead of reaching for their smart devices, people had their morning coffee, took a shower, or even had morning sex on their most productive days.

Sex health experts say more intimate activity can lead to a better immune system, lower blood pressure, better bladder control, and a lower risk for a heart attack. Reports that were also done show that alarm clocks and repeatedly hitting the ‘snooze’ button can throw off a persons sleeping habits. Therefore, experts are suggesting that people should be woken up by sex instead.

In a survey asked 992 people, Mattress Advisor compared days when people are most productive, compared to days when they are not. The steps these individuals took on there most productive day is displayed below.
Dr. Justin Lehmiller, a Research Fellow at the Kinsey Institute, suggests that more scientific research has made a connection between nighttime sex and elevated happiness, satisfaction, and engagement in the workplace. “Based on these findings, it seems reasonable to predict that morning sex would have similar effects,” Lehmiller tells Bustle. “We would need a scientific study to know for sure, but I don’t see a reason to suspect that the effects of morning sex would be any different than evening sex in terms of how we feel at work.”
Lehmiller notes that two possible explanations for the phenomenon are; The effects of sex hormones and neurotransmitters like oxytocin and dopamine stick around even after the act is over, and/or, we’re better equipped to focus at work when we start our days with stress-reducing sex.

A happy woman looks the part, after a loving moment!
It has always been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because mornings can greatly impact our days. Some individuals may find that sharing a few intimate minutes with their partner creates the foundation for a happy, productive day. However, there are others who may feel better after a workout or proper breakfast. More than 51% of men who typically don’t have morning sex, wish it was apart of their regular routine. Nearly 35% of these men said partner wasn’t in the mood, whereas, another 28% said their partners wanted more sleep instead.

According to Mattress Advisor, people who are more satisfied with their relationship typically have more morning sex more than individuals who are not so happy. However, the main idea is to find the best routine that creates the most productive day for yourself.

So what does a woman really want a man to have ?

How about a man with solid traits of True Integrity.

Can his love satisfy her  —
or will she end up brokenhearted, regardless?

Integrity, as defined in the dictionary, “the quality of being honest or having strong moral principles.” People with integrity are generally known to be trustworthy, honest, and kind. (yes ladies this applies to your man too) This is a quality that everyone should strive for. So modern day women, may not feel these days that wanting this in her man, is realistic.... just because it's become highly uncommon!
Additionally, everyone (yes ladies this applies to you too) should also strive to surround themselves with people who have true integrity. How can you tell that someone has what is considered true integrity? It isn’t something that can be faked, but there are some ways to tell that someone has real integrity and are not just faking it. Here are the main behaviors that reveal if someone has the kind of integrity you want in a friend or coworker, and a partner.
I will take on all of these on my shoulders!

TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS

Integrity is all about having a high level of honesty. When someone takes responsibility for their actions, you know that they are an honest person. It’s not always easy to take responsibility for things that happen, but it is the right thing to do. People with integrity choose to do the right things, even when it’s hard.

PUTTING OTHERS’ NEEDS ABOVE THEIR OWN

In a world that is so focused on individualism, it can be rare to find someone who focuses on what’s good for the collective community. People who put the needs of others above their own needs or desires show true integrity. Of course, they don’t do this simply to get praise and recognition.
Someone with true integrity is only interested in doing the right things.

OFFERING TO HELP OTHERS IN NEED

Seth Meyers, Psy.D, says that volunteer work is a great place to find people who have high integrity. This is because people with true integrity have no qualms offering their time to help people in need. They want to help those who are less fortunate than themselves. What is more, they do so happily. Whether it’s working with others to build a house in a developing country, or helping out at the local food bank, Someone with true integrity will be found helping those in need.

GIVING OTHERS THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT

Seth Meyers also says that someone with integrity doesn’t jump to conclusions. They always give others the chance to explain themselves, and move forward considering those other points of view. Someone with integrity knows that things aren’t always as they seem and that each person has a unique point of view that deserves to be heard. As such, they choose to give the benefit of the doubt instead of doubt.

CHOOSING HONESTY IN ALL THINGS

Little white lies can be tempting, but someone with true integrity doesn’t give in to this particular impulse. Integrity means being honest, and someone with true integrity will live this quality every day. You can always trust these kinds of people to give you their honest opinion, and it will be a point of view that you can value.

SHOWING RESPECT TO EVERYONE

Respect is often considered something that must be earned, but someone with integrity gives respect to everyone they meet. Someone with true integrity knows that everyone deserves respect and deserves to be treated like a human being. People with true integrity will never be caught being rude to waiters or customer service workers.

MANIFESTING HUMILITY

A person with integrity will be proud of their accomplishments, but they will at the same time be humble. In other words, they know the difference between confidence and arrogance. A person with true integrity will know their strengths as well as their shortcomings. They recognize their strong points, yet they’re always striving to better themselves in some way.

BEING ABLE TO ADMIT THEY’RE WRONG

Who likes to admit they have been wrong? It isn’t fun, and it can be a humbling experience. But a person with true integrity has no problem admitting when they’re wrong, or when they made a mistake. You will find they are always the first to stop, admit their mistakes, and apologize if need be.

SHOWING REGULAR RELIABILITY

A person with true integrity will always show up to an obligation. When they say you can count on them for something, you know they will keep their word. Integrity is all about being the best person you can be, and reliability is part of that. People with true integrity will never flake on you if they can help it. You can confidently rely on them.

CONVEYING TRUE KINDNESS

Above all, people with integrity are kind. They’re not the type of person to say something they don’t mean. They won’t say something nice to your face and something cruel to your back. A person with true integrity knows that there is strength in being unrelentingly kind.

When his lady arrives after a hard days work....

he prepares her a hot tub for a relaxing soak!

FINAL THOUGHTS

If you’re fortunate enough to find someone who loves you, understands you, and accepts you, go for it! Don’t allow the attitudes of friends and family to cause you to miss out on a good thing. People who are happy want you to be happy regardless of the age or race of your partner. But those who are unhappy will always attempt to block your blessing. As the old saying goes, “Misery loves company.” ~ #MichaelBaisden.

“Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not.” – Oprah Winfrey
While Integrity is a trait that everyone should strive for, which is not easy in today's World These traits and behaviors will help anyone move towards becoming a person with true integrity. Of course, people with these traits do these things because it’s the right thing – not for praised! That is part of the beauty of someone who lives a life we can all mimic.

SOME BEHAVIORS THAT KEEP YOU FROM FINDING A RELATIONSHIP THAT WORKS

It shouldn't be this hard to find love!

Is it possible that your own behavior might be something that is keeping you from finding a relationship that works?
Although you might think you are ready for love, there are some ways that we self-sabotage our own desires when it comes to relationships. Let’s look at 10 behaviors that keep you from finding a relationship that will work well for your needs.

1. YOU HAVE YET TO HEAL FROM THE HURT OF YOUR CHILDHOOD

Psychologists call your adult relationship style your ‘attachment style’ and they say that the way you bond with a romantic partner is based on how you learned love as a child. If your childhood years were not happy ones, it takes a lot of healing before you can find a relationship that works.
Psychologists at Texas A&M University who looked at 144 dating couples found that those with anxious or avoidant attachment styles had more negative emotions and fewer positive emotions in their relationships. The partners with secure attachment styles were the ones who had the most positive emotions and the least negative emotions during their relationships.

2. YOU APPLY THE DEAL BREAKER RULE TO EVERY DATE

14141984_10153748878042371_6031472862533118084_nMan Hands, Close Talker, and the Double Dip were all reasons that character(s) on the TV show Seinfeld had to dump their dates. If you give your dates deal-breaker status based on their negative behavior, that is totally unfair. Sure, we all have deal breakers that will just get under our skin so we know to avoid those types of people, but you’re not perfect either. Labeling your partner’s negative behavior while ignoring their positive traits aren't giving them a fair deal. It’s possible that this is one behavior that is keeping you from finding a relationship that works. Try focusing on the positive aspects of your next partner.

3. YOUR STANDARDS ARE TOO HIGH

You are looking for the never-married lawyer in his 40’s who graduated from Yale and has a mansion, convertible, and perfect abs? Looking for someone who is either out of your league or who would have no reason to find value in you as a partner is one possible reason you haven’t found a relationship that works.

4. PREVIOUS LOVE HAS MADE YOU JADED

You are stuck in the negativity, regret, and resentment about your past relationships, which is keeping you from finding a relationship that works. Who wants to be with someone who is only focused on the negative? No one you should want to be with, that’s for sure. Try to find the lesson from these past loves, let go, grow, and open yourself up to only positives.

5. LOW SELF-ESTEEM

Low self-esteem is one possible trait that keeps you from finding a relationship that works. It’s hard to love someone else fully until you can say the same about your relationship with yourself. Let’s focus on you for a while and then look for romance.

6. YOU’RE AFRAID OF WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU DID FIND THE RIGHT PERSON

Fear is not uncommon for those who are single, and in this case, it’s the fear of finding a relationship that works. Sometimes you fear to lose your freedom or losing the potential for another romantic partner who (in your mind) could be even better and who might come along when you aren’t available. Sometimes, it is a fear of success that keeps you from true love.
Let go of the past hurts by giving love flowingly...

7. YOU ARE PURSUING SOMEONE WHO ISN’T SINGLE

Maybe he or she will leave their spouse, but in the meantime, you’re tying yourself up with someone who isn’t available, which means you are also not available to find someone who is looking for you.

8. YOU THINK YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP WHO YOU ARE TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP

You should never have to sacrifice your personality for a romantic partner, so resolve to never let that happen and be ready for the possibility of a love where you can still be yourself AND be in a relationship that works.

9. YOU KEEP REPEATING THE SAME PATTERN IN RELATIONSHIPS

Similarly to your attachment style, if you are repeating old patterns of unhealthy relationship behavior, you may have some personal growth to do before you can be in a relationship that really works. Living in the past just will not work for you in a relationship. Your partner wants you to live in the here and now with them, and if you can’t let go of old, negative habits that don’t serve you, you can’t have a healthy relationship.

Researchers at the University of Rochester and the University of Georgia looked at mindfulness and relationship satisfaction and found that ‘greater practice of mindfulness on a given day predicted improved relationship happiness, stress coping efficacy, and lower relationship-specific and overall stress.’ Letting go of the past, and avoiding worrying about the future, keeps you mindful and aware of the joy that is found in each moment with your romantic partner, and that is a great way to have an emotionally healthy relationship that works well for both of you.
This outfit should attract my Mr. Right!

10. YOU FIND IT HARD TO TRUST

We get it; putting yourself out there to potentially be hurt can be emotionally scary, but you have to take a risk if you want the big payoff. It’s better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all.

Here are some secret habits for happier relationships

Happy couples that stay together for the long-haul work hard to make their relationship last. There’s no “magic bullet” to a lasting relationship, but there are secrets that every couple should know. Every couple that stays together has adopted these secrets and, over time, has developed them into habits. Relationship experts can back it up: these habits will keep any relationship healthy and strong for years to come.

1. SPEND TIME TOGETHER

Obviously, you want to spend time with your partner; however, it’s not always possible. Couples who stay together know that it is all about making the time. Even if it is just a phone call over lunch or an hour at the end of the day, make together-time happen. Couples who stay together make an effort to listen to one another and share their feelings.

2. TURN OFF SOCIAL MEDIA

As fun as it can be to show off your relationship on the internet, it’s important to know when enough is enough. Sometimes take that extra step to put down the phone, unplug your computer, and spend quality time with your partner. Keeping some things to yourself about your relationship is key to keeping one another happy and emotionally healthy.

3. GO WITH THE FLOW

You know that relationships are going to have their ups and downs. Not every relationship is going to be exactly the same, and you’re going to experience different hardships in each one. Couples who stay happy together understand the importance of going with the changing flow of any relationship. You can’t move forward if you keep standing still.

4. TEACH ONE ANOTHER

There’s so much we can learn from the people around us. We should not see intimate relationships any differently. Learning from and teaching one another is one of the habits that happy couples must learn. Don’t be afraid to admit your shortcomings – and don’t be afraid to allow your partner to show you the way! Relationships are about growth, and sometimes we have to grow together.

5. TALK IT OUT

Happiness doesn’t come from sweeping your problems under the rug and hoping they go away. Happy couples that stay together learn how to talk through their issues. They don’t let things fester. They bring up disagreements, talk about them, and come to a compromise or agreement.

6. They show AFFECTION

Sex is good, but affection is also an important part of relationships. Holding hands, hugging, kissing, and cuddling are all important aspects of affection, yet this intimacy can sometimes get overlooked. Reminding your partner of your love is one vital benefit of regular affection.

7. Stay INTIMATE

Of course, intimacy (both physical and emotional) is also a key to a long-lasting, happy relationship. Couples who keep intimacy a regular part of their relationship is much more likely to stay together. According to a research study, intimacy is important to happy relationships because it promotes a stronger connection between two people.

8. SHOW APPRECIATION

When relationships last for a while, we can start to take our partner for granted, even if we don’t mean to. In fact, can you remember the last time you thanked your partner for preparing dinner or doing the dishes? What about taking out the garbage or filling the gas tank? It’s important to show appreciation, and happy couples make a habit of saying thank you.

9. LEARN TO FORGIVE

According to Mark Goulston, M.D., happy couples know that trusting and forgiving one another is the way to go. When arguments arise, or when your partner does something unintentionally hurtful, it’s important to trust them and forgive them. Next, discuss together how to move forward from that point. Happy couples practice forgiveness rather than hold grudges.

10. CHECK-IN

Goulston also suggests that happy couples check in on each other throughout the day. Sometimes, things can happen during our day that can completely tank our moods. Couples who keep one another in mind and give a text or call to “check in” are likely to stay happy and build a long-lasting connection. Show your partner that you care and that you’re thinking of them.

11. LEARN HOW TO ARGUE

There is a right way and a wrong way to argue with your partner. Arguments happen, but your partner isn’t your enemy. Happy couples learn how to argue without seeing their partner as someone they have to win against. Rather, they look for a positive solution to end the disagreement.

12. Say “I LOVE YOU” EVERY DAY

Happy couples always remind one another that they care and that they love each other. Saying “I love you” every day will help form stronger connections between you and your partner. Happy couples that stay together tell one another “I love you” every morning and every night – and throughout the day when they can.

FINAL THOUGHTS

“I think for any relationship to be successful, there needs to be loving communication, appreciation, and understanding.” – Miranda Kerr

Happy, long-lasting relationships can happen to anyone. You just need to know how to work out the problems that come with relationships. These habits are a great starting point to building a long and happy relationship.
