So who deserves a woman of substance in their lives?

Many might raise their hands(men and women). But how many men these days deserve
a woman of substance, based on what they are bringing to the table?
Mayor of Atlanta, Ga. Keisha Lance Bottoms

Woman are moving from the classrooms to the glass-enclosed corner offices.
While many guys are not.
Women are on the move while many guys are not. We can say it loud “
a proud man, I can take care of business,
but  I’m not getting the opportunities that women…. are…. now earning.
That’s right ”Earning!”
How well do you know these women?  Most of the time we have heard about them or may have even crossed paths with some of them,
like classmates or even dated one of them. But now that these women have progressed….
Many men sit on the sideline wishing that they had made better use of their
time while they still had a window of opportunity that was slightly ajar.
Admission: my fascination with Proud accomplished women, is not new.
I’ve grown up in a family that had more accomplished women than men.
Simple because most of my closest family members were women i.e.
mother, aunts, cousins etc…I had a couple men mainly, father,
uncles that stood out. But almost all of my female family members were women of substance outshining the men.
So I developed an eye for these kinds of women. I can see them from a distance!
So let me just make a few observations here.
I was reading an article in Ebony magazine titled:”
Who’s afraid of the  big BAD progressives?” A new wave of liberal democrats is battling for greater inclusivity and taking their fight to the streets. `~Charise Frazier.
The face of the article had, “Yeah” you guessed it a woman of color.
You might not know her if you saw her on the streets but when she is on a podium she is dynamic.
you will not be able to ignore her voice. Here is a quote:
“ I think people are tired of politicians who don’t represent
them and can’t relate to their lives.
~ Alexandria Ocasio-Cortz
Not more than 2 years ago when the USA president was an African American
who had us believing that we were deep into the false existence of a “ post-racial”
‘Post sexist” model society. It was a direct reaction to the symbolism of Barack Obama.
Michelle Obama stood shoulder to shoulder with her husband, she is a
tall beautiful smart woman. So when they dance to Beyonce’s version of ……
”At last” I have found my love! We all picture it being us in  such relationships
(well Donald Trump changed all of that the instant he became president)
Many men and woman of color saw themselves… as the couples that would walk side by side, dance cheek to cheek, and have the dream life together.
Guess what!  It does not happen like that in real life for many of us….
The Obama are an exceptional couple. He owes his success to her sacrifices,
and she owes her recognition of their combined success to his grit and appeals to not just people of color but many other cultures. He could not have become
president without having a well educated strong woman, who is an example of
what a modern-day strong woman should be. I can hear the fellahs saying
“But Yeah, if only I could find me an exceptional Michele Obama type of woman.
” News flash… there are many more Michele Obama’s out there today thanefore President Obama took office. But not even a small percentage of Barack ’s there on the horizon or anywhere else to found.
These young progressive women are trailblazing.
Just look at this last midterm elections women stood up and stood out,
and are taking their seats in the next congress of the USA having beaten established men,
either in the primaries or in the midterm elections.
A mother whose son was killed by a guy who didn’t like the music her son was playing in his car,
was elected to office---- not his dad. Perhaps not surprisingly,
Black woman’s visibility in American political life is continuing at an unprecedented pace----
currently, there are at least 20 black women mayors of sizeable cities throughout the U.S.
Let’s use one example the second female Mayor of Atlanta, Ga. Keisha Lance Bottoms has already announced a $9 million citywide plan to expand affordable housing opportunities in reaction to the city’s massive gentrification.
Name me one Male mayor who is doing anything about gentrification!
I can count the fellahs on one hand that are trailblazing these days…..
Is that equality in action? Well, maybe Michele Obama can say she got the last good One.
And many women might agree with her.
Another article caught my attention, as I SMDH “Young, gifted (conservative, Republican)
and black [OP-Ed] a rising millennial GOP strategist opens up about the soft-question
the motivation of African-Americans on the other side of the political spectrum
~Shermichael Singleton. Sorry, I was not impressed.
While the numbers of women who are taking office are in record numbers …
the number of these Young gifted black men are a total of (1) senator for the GOP and
One Senator for the DEMs. not many in Congress.
What does that tell me as a man? Barack Obama may have been the poster president for the first 2 decades of the 21st Century but he will not have many following in a line of his footsteps anytime soon.
While Michele Obama may not run for office, her sisters surely are….
They are working their way forward to occupy the corporate corner offices in greater numbers than their mothers did in the 20th century ever could have.
Filling seats in governments, become entrepreneurs, leading corporations etc.
Now let’s ask the question again
So who deserves a person of substance in their lives?
Fellahs, you better get your game plans together, or you will only serve as sperm donors
for the remainder of this century.
